Kasini keerai is a rich source of beta carotene, vitamin A and K and other essential minerals. kasini keerai chooranam contains a good amount of fibre and is low in energy and fats. It is loaded with minerals and folic acid (folate).It contain salts such as sulphates, and phosphates of sodium, magnesium, and potassium as well as potassium nitrate. It also contains a bitter glycoside named cichorine.
